The Leicestershire & Rutland Golf Union runs an annual foursomes tournament, the inaugaral event was in 1976 the trophies were donated by Past President of the English Golf Union (1983) and Rothley Park GC member John C A Cheatle.

John Crocker and Lee Grant won the John Cheatle Foursomes with a nett 67, 2 shots clear of the runners up Martin Dickinson and Martyn Walker Lutterworth. The Gross prize was won by Coby Cartwright and Henry Walkinshaw Cosby with a 74.
